Hello Ken,

Interesting write-up . . . I have advocated shooting the night sky for a while, now. Personally, I cannot stand the blue mentality, 3,800˚K they tend to set, justifying that is what their eyes see -though mine don't see the night sky that way. I point out that fewer than 1% of visible stars are blue. I have slowly strayed away from gray Moon. What is the color of Moon rock? Considering it was torn from the Earth, I am guessing if you and I were standing upon it right now, in sunlight, it would not look gray. I measure and set color and white balance during day light a variety of ways. I use a Gossen ColorMaster III (most accurate), a Kodak Gray Card, a Neutral ExposDisc (very accurate), X-Rite ColorChecker Passport, Spyder Cube . . . I do care very much about color accuracy when rendering my photos. If you have not noticed, each software will read/interpret/display the Raw Image File's Color Temperature differently . . . https://www.flickr.com/photos/cassidyphotography/
