Nikon announces the D700 and SB-900
- The camera flash revolution continues, with Nikon's SB-900 that zooms in to 200mm. Comes in handy for wildlife... and also in lieu of a grid / snoot.
- Luminous Landscape reports on the D700 (and also a Sinar view camera designed more closely for digital backs). I guess Nikon's not too worried about cannibalizing their D3 market?
This is after the best shot out there got revealed as a fake.
Still, this will make a number of people who are just waiting for the 5D to be replaced very happy (Hi, emily!) because it finally provides incentive for Canon to whip it out.

I should note that the 5D really was the camera I was waiting for to go digital. Except that I discovered that I loved film so much....
