You might draw a parallel between a pot or other psychoactive substance stash and a film stash. It's probably waranted. I've been known to give friends a freebie roll of B&W film and develop it for them, to try and draw them into the addiction. There are occasionally weird smells coming out of my bathroom from developing. I have to develop a relationship with a dealer.
It's not illegal, at least. And thankfully, it seems that none of the useful photographic chemicals are part of a meth recipe.
